These three second-year students may have divergent career paths, but they share the drive for success. Each have leveraged The Consortium's network as they continue reaching their personal and professional goals.

"I've always loved the arts, culture and fashion," says second year student Jasmine Khan. "My passion is in retail." To realize her goal of working in the luxury industry, Khan concluded she needed a graduate degree.

Though she considered a joint JD and MBA degree, Khan opted to focus on her business skills to switch from a career in corporate law to a new profession in retail and luxury goods. "I knew an MBA would increase my business savvy and provide me with the education to market myself as someone who can bring value to the industry through both qualitative and quantitative means," she feels.

Learning about The Consortium through a friend, Khan realized the organization allowed her to apply to the schools she hoped to enter. She remembers, "The Consortium helped me identify some of the best MBA programs in the country and afforded me the opportunity to apply to more schools through their reduced application fees."

To learn more about the organization and its member schools, Khan attended an Information Session. There, she sought representatives from universities which interested her and gained advice on how to create an appealing application.

Deciding on University of Rochester, Khan kicked off her experience as a Consortium student at the Annual Orientation Program & Career Forum (OP). The event connected her with her Consortium classmates and prepared her not only for business school, but her post-graduate career, as well. She states, "I started my first year of business school prepared to aggressively pursue the goals that brought me to business school."
